Welcome New Coaches ... Candice Worley will be joining the DCS coaching staff this year as the head coach of the gilr's varsity basketball team. With over 32 years of experience as a player, student and teacher ofthe "John Wooden" style of basketball (teamwork first), Coach Worley is looking forward to leading the Lady Knights in living their Testimony First! and glorifying God. Coach Worley played at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. After becoming a starter her junior year, she graduated with 1075 total points and 479 rebunds (worth noting: at the time there was not a 3-point line ... so all 2-point field goals). She was ranked 10th nationally in free-throuw shooting with an 83.7% average and ended her college career as ECAC Division 3 player of the year. Graduating with a BS in Biology, she went on to earn a BSN in Nursing from the Medical College of Virginia. She has enjoyed several years of coaching and looks forward to continuing the God-honoring, winning tradition of girls basketball at DCS. Coach Worley resides in Kennesaw with her husband Mac and their three children. Mark Tidwell has served as a head varsity high school baseball coach for 13 years. Six of those seasons were at the Webb School in Tennessee, while the other 7 were at the Walker School here in Marietta. During his tenure as a head coach, he compiled over 200 wins, won Georgia 's class A state championship in 2001 and 2002, and finished in the final 4 once. Mark was named Georgia Athletic Coaches Association coach of the year twice and Georgia Dugout Club coach of the year once. He was also named region coach of the year in '02. During his stint at Walker, 12 players went on to play collegiate baseball, 9 of those at the Division I level; 4 of those have signed pro contracts. Tidwell also successfully coached girls' fastpitch softball for four years, winning the Georgia AA state championship in 2001, and 2 region titles. Over the 19 years as a high school coach, Coach Tidwell notched 7 state titles in 4 different sports and won over 500 contests. Mark is married to his wife, Lee, with whom he is about to celebrate their 25th He is a fulltime staff member with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and attends Wildwood Baptist Church. anniversary. Their children are Nathan, Jessica, and Cameron...all whom have been accomplished athletes. In high school, Nathan was an outstanding 4-year letterman in both Baseball and Basketball at Dominion Christian. He is presently completing his studies at Tennessee Temple University and is projected to graduate this coming year with a BA in Sports Management and Coaching. Going to TTU on a baseball scholarship, he was the first Dominion graduate to play collegiately. There, he played for three years, and served as a student assistant for the Men's Basketball team. While attending school, he also coached with STaF Athletics 15U Travel baseball team. Additionally, Coach Tidwell has served as: Assistant Baseball Coach at Shiloh Hills Christian, instructor/coach at the John Smoltz Baseball Camps, and as an assistant with the Marietta High program in '09. He is presently Project manager for Championship Field Construction out of Woodstock, GA and Ft. Myers, FL
Richard Ramsey will be joining Dominion Christian Schools this upcoming year heading girls and boys tennis program. Richard Ramsey serves as the Atlanta City Director for Christian Leadership Concepts. His passion is to equip men to lead and initiate for Christ at their home, church, community, and marketplace. Richard and his wife Victoria served with Campus Crusade for Christ for 20 years in the southeast and globally. Richard has a BS from East TN State University and a MA from Columbia International University. As the founder of r2Tennis Academy, Richard enjoys impacting students for Christ through the game of tennis. Richard and Victoria live in Marietta with their daughters Virginia and Sarah.
